Bothell High School

Parlamerica is piloting a Spanish–English conversational language exchange program between students studying Spanish at Bothell High School in Bothell, WA and students studying English through a community center run by Familias de la Esperanza. This nonprofit organization is working to break the cycle of poverty for garbage recyclers at the Puerto Vallarta, Mexico municipal dump by teaching English and computers skills to the children, and thereby, giving them the chance to better their lives. The focus for the American students is to learn to use Spanish in practical, everyday settings.

Woodinville High School

Parlamerica is continuing to pilot its conversational language exchange program at a new high school in the Northshore School District. Students studying 5th year Spanish at Woodinville High School are connecting with students studying English at Instituto de Educacion Secundaria Cid Campeador in Valencia, Spain.
